Mark Corsillo is an accomplished IT professional and community leader who has lived in Mansfield for nine years and is seeking to serve as a member of the Mansfield Select Board. With a background in technology and public service, Mark brings a unique perspective and a wealth of knowledge to the table, making him an excellent candidate for the position.
Mark grew up in a family that valued civil service and education. His father was a detective with the NYPD, and his mother was a high school math teacher. Both of his grandmothers were also elementary schoolteachers, and his brother currently teaches fifth grade life science in an inner-city school in Queens, NY. His grandparents were very active in their community, and were members of the volunteer ambulance corps, the Knights of Columbus, and other local groups. This commitment to their community was instilled in Mark from a young age, and he participated in many community organizations like Cub Scouts and his local church, helped run blood drives, and worked at a local independent pharmacy.
Mark has been actively involved in various community organizations in Mansfield and has a deep understanding of the town’s needs and challenges. He has served as a member of the Mansfield Planning Board since 2022, where he has worked to ensure that development projects adhere to town regulations while promoting economic growth. In addition to helping shape the Town’s zoning amendments to achieve compliance with the MBTA Zoning requirements, he has more recently proposed and helped to draft the Commonwealth’s first municipal ban on data centers to ensure our electrical grid and water supplies remain affordable and reliable for our residents, which will be voted on at Town Meeting on May 5!
Mark has also worked closely with the Town Clerk as an Election worker since 2020. He serves as an Election Warden, helping to ensure a smooth and secure voting process for thousands of Mansfield voters, at local, state, and federal elections as well as at Town Meeting. As an Election Warden, Mark advocated for the implementation of color-coded wristbands as an easy visual indicator of a Town Meeting attendee’s voter eligibility, improving election security by ensuring that only registered voters are able to cast votes.
In addition to his community involvement, Mark has a successful career in IT, having worked at various area companies in leadership positions. His experience in technology, project management, and strategic planning would be valuable assets to the Select Board as they make critical decisions for the town’s future.
Mark is committed to working collaboratively with his fellow board members, residents, and other stakeholders to address the town’s most pressing issues, such as managing growth, improving infrastructure, encouraging transparency, and promoting economic development. With his dedication, expertise, and passion for public service, Mark Corsillo is the right choice for the Mansfield Select Board.
